Joseph Mertens

Greetings! My name is Joseph Mertens and I am a graduate of the University of Mount Union. I am a highly ambitious, self-motivated individual with seven years of experience in broadcasting, production, and journalism, specializing in sports with interests of expanding my abilities with a sports organization. I have a double major in Integrated Media and Sports Business. From an early age, I was interested in a career in sports. In high school, I was a member of the Saint Ignatius Broadcasting Network, broadcasting high school basketball and baseball. When I was in college I joined 91.1 WRMU, the University's radio station. I quickly worked my way up to the sports director position being a mentor to the other students and upgrading content for the radio station in the sports field. I was the voice of Mount Union athletics for two years and highlights of my broadcasts can be found here. In my senior year, I had the opportunity of broadcasting games with ESPN 3 and Cleveland State. Out of college, I continue to broadcast sporting events calling high school football and basketball games for Q92/WDJQ in Alliance, Ohio.
